Job Description
We are seeking an HR Business Partner, Compensation & Total Rewards to join a digital media and entertainment company and serve as a key partner at the intersection of people, performance, and business strategy.
This is a highly impactful role for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, high-growth environment and is passionate about building scalable compensation frameworks, data-driven insights, and disciplined workforce strategies.
In this role, you will lead the design and execution of compensation architecture, incentive programs, and people analytics, while also serving as a credible and professional HR presence on the ground. You will work closely with Finance and HR leadership to ensure workforce decisions are aligned with business priorities, cost discipline, and long-term growth. This is a role for someone who wants to build from the ground up, influence decision-making through data, and operate as a trusted partner to both HR and business leadership.
What You’ll Do
1. Compensation & Total Rewards
Develop and maintain salary bands, job leveling frameworks, and pay equity structures
Design and optimize incentive programs, including bonus and performance-based compensation
Partner with Finance on headcount planning, workforce cost modeling, and budget alignment
Lead compensation cycles, including benchmarking and market analysis
Ensure compensation strategies are competitive, equitable, and aligned to business goals
2. HR Systems & People Analytics
Build and manage dashboards tracking headcount, attrition, compensation, and workforce trends
Analyze key people metrics and translate insights into actionable recommendations
Partner with HR leadership to drive data-informed decision-making
Support the continuous improvement of HR systems and tools for scalability and efficiency
3. HR Presence & Partnership
Serve as a trusted, approachable HR presence in the Sunnyvale office
Act as an extension of HR leadership, ensuring consistency in messaging and employee experience
Build strong relationships with local leaders and teams, providing ongoing guidance and support
4. Employee Guidance & Escalation
Provide thoughtful guidance to managers and employees on day-to-day HR matters
Identify and escalate performance or organizational concerns as needed
Maintain a consistent, compliant, and positive employee experience
Partner with HR leadership to ensure issues are handled with care and discretion

Required Skills & Experience
● 6–8+ years of experience in HR, with a strong focus on compensation and total rewards
● Proven experience partnering with Finance on workforce planning and cost management
● Strong analytical capability with experience in people analytics, reporting, and data-driven decision-making
● Experience working with or optimizing HR systems and tools
● Ability to operate independently while maintaining alignment with distributed leadership
● Professional, approachable, and discreet with strong judgment and integrity
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
● Experience in tech, media, or content-driven environments
● Familiarity with compensation benchmarking tools (Radford, Compa, Mercer, Pave)
● Startup or high-growth company experience
● Familiarity with California employment labor practices, pay transparency and regulations
● Mandarin language skills
