Job Description
Insight Global is seeking a Survivability Materials and Process Engineer for a top aerospace and defense client supporting advanced composite aircraft manufacturing. This engineer will drive the development and implementation of low observable (LO) materials and processes that reduce radar, IR, and visual signatures, while ensuring solutions are manufacturable and sustainable in production. The role partners closely with composites manufacturing, quality, design engineering, and vendors to create material/process specifications, lead coupon testing and material characterization, troubleshoot manufacturing issues through failure investigations and root cause analysis, and provide guidance for repair and rework of LO-critical features.

Required Skills & Experience
- BS/MS/PhD in Engineering or related technical discipline (approx. 12+ yrs BS / 10+ yrs MS / 7+ yrs PhD)
- Experience in Low Observables (LO), Survivability Engineering, or Advanced Signature Technologies
- Strong understanding of RCS theory, electromagnetic scattering, and IR signature fundamentals
- Hands-on experience integrating LO features into airframe structures and/or subsystems
- Experience with LO testing, RCS ranges, IR test setups, and data analysis.
- Experience supporting composites manufacturing (lay-up, bonding, processing) in an aerospace environment
- Ability to develop/drive materials & process specifications
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
- Experience developing and fabricating composite structures with an emphasis on low observable materials and structures.
- Experience with selection and application of specialty coatings in manufacturing environment
- Secret Clearance
