Job Description

An Insight Global Technology client is seeking a Tableau consultant with strong skills in data visualization and a solid understanding of data architecture. This role goes beyond dashboard building: the ideal candidate can assess data structures, recommend improvements, and guide stakeholders toward scalable, efficient reporting solutions. They should be comfortable translating business questions into analytical requirements and delivering high quality visualizations that drive decision making.

Key Responsibilities
• Tableau Dashboard Development — Design, build, and optimize interactive dashboards, reports, and visual analytics tailored to business needs.
• Data Structure Assessment — Evaluate existing data sources, schemas, and pipelines to ensure they support accurate and efficient reporting.
• Best Practice Recommendations — Advise on visualization standards, data modeling approaches, and dashboard performance optimization.
• Requirements Gathering — Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand objectives and translate them into technical specifications.
• Data Preparation — Clean, transform, and structure data using Tableau Prep, SQL, or other tools to support reporting needs.
• Collaboration — Collaborate with IT on data table builds and processes to support efficient reporting.
• Performance Optimization — Improve dashboard load times, query efficiency, and overall user experience.
Usage Reporting — Run existing Tableau usage reporting and evaluate usage by team; provide recommendations on changes and improvements.

Compensation:
$25/hr to $35/hr

Required Skills & Experience

• Tableau Expertise — Strong proficiency with Tableau Desktop, Tableau Server/Cloud, and data blending/LOD expressions.
• SQL Proficiency — Ability to write queries, understand joins, and work with relational databases.
• Data Knowledge — Understanding of data schemas, fact/dimension tables, and data normalization.
• Analytical Thinking — Ability to translate ambiguous business questions into structured analytical solutions.
• Understanding data sources and worked with manual data (ex: EXCL)
Thought leadership - someone that is coming in as a consultant and expert in this place

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

Experience with Marketing data structures, Salesforce, Protyping/wireframing, Communication
