Job Description
Insight Global is seeking a Lighting and Controls Design Engineer to support a growing pipeline of energy efficiency and lighting retrofit projects nationwide. This individual will be responsible for leading lighting design and controls efforts from early concept through implementation and commissioning.
Day-to-day responsibilities include producing lighting designs for commercial and industrial projects, supporting fixture selection and system strategies, and contributing to technical documentation, estimates, and scopes of work. This person will partner closely with internal engineering, operations, and construction teams to translate design intent into executable plans and support handoff throughout the full project lifecycle.
Projects typically support facilities within higher education, K–12 education, healthcare, government, commercial, and industrial environments. This individual may work remotely but will travel into the field to support projects and should ideally be located near a major airport to accommodate travel needs.

Required Skills & Experience
• 5–7 years of experience in lighting design
• Ability to design and implement lighting control systems
• Extensive experience with networked lighting controls in commercial and industrial projects
• In field experience (auditing, installation, GC systems, commissioning)
• Ability to explain lighting ecosystems to different stakeholders/ sub-contractors
Experience working in ESCO / performance contracting environments
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
• Experience tying lighting into Energy Conservation Measures (ECMs)
• Experience with commissioning or controls testing
• Lighting certifications (CLD, LC, etc.)
Resides near an airport
