Job Description

Insight Global is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to support a large engineering and consulting firm on a growing pipeline of data center and energy infrastructure projects. This individual will play a key leadership role managing both technical delivery and day-to-day engineering operations.
On a daily basis, this person will oversee engineering staff, coordinate workloads, and provide technical guidance to ensure successful project execution. They will lead mechanical, plumbing, and controls design efforts across complex projects—including data centers, central plants, and process cooling systems—while ensuring all work meets QA/QC standards, client requirements, and applicable codes.
This role also includes conducting design reviews, resolving technical challenges, supporting troubleshooting and system optimization, and collaborating closely with internal teams and external stakeholders such as clients, contractors, and regulatory agencies.

Required Skills & Experience

o 10-15+ years of electrical design experience
o Active California PE and NCEES record
o Experience working on data centers and central plant systems (cooling/heating)
o Experience with process cooling, HVAC systems, and associated plumbing design
o Hands-on experience with QA/QC processes and enforcing technical standards
o Proven leadership experience
Experience with AutoCAD, Revit/BIM, Bluebeam

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

o Multi-state PE licenses
o Background in energy solutions / ESCO / performance contracting environments
Experience with Applied Flow technology software (AFT Fathom, AFT Arrow) and/or TRACE 3D Plus software.
