Job Description
Insight Global is looking for a Senior Engineering Manager for one our customers to lead engineering operations across our South El Monte, California manufacturing sites. This role is critical to advancing their large platform machining, spin forming, and bump forming capabilities in support of aerospace, missile, and defense programs.
Reporting to the Director of Engineering, this leader will own the strategic development, execution, and continuous improvement of manufacturing engineering and NC programming functions, while remaining deeply connected to day to day shop execution. This is a hands on manufacturing leader role ideal for someone who thrives in a job shop / machine shop environment.
This position blends technical depth, people leadership, and program accountability, supporting both current production and future capability growth.

Required Skills & Experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Manufacturing Engineering, or related discipline
• 10+ years of experience in aerospace or defense manufacturing
• 5+ years in an engineering leadership or people‑management role (flexible for exceptionally strong machining leaders)
• Strong hands‑on background in CNC machining environments (3‑axis and 5‑axis)
• Deep understanding of NC programming organizations and manufacturing workflows
• Demonstrated success leading engineers and programmers in production‑focused environments
• Proven ability to drive continuous improvement, structure, and execution in complex shop settings
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
• Master’s degree in Engineering or Management
• Experience in job shop or high‑mix / low‑volume manufacturing
• Familiarity with ERP systems and manufacturing data systems
Exposure to CAD/CAM platforms (e.g., CATIA, Mastercam) tool expertise flexible, conceptual understanding required
