Job Description

The Wearables Games team is building interactive game experiences for wearable devices. We’re looking for a versatile, traditional Technical Artist who can act as the glue between art, design, and engineering—helping the team move efficiently from prototype to polished, shippable content.

In this role, you’ll partner closely with an existing Technical Artist and collaborate across disciplines to unblock pipelines, support rigging and runtime integration, and increase overall production velocity while maintaining quality and meeting the strict performance budgets required for wearable hardware. You’ll work primarily in Unity (C#), leverage Python for tooling and automation, and incorporate AI‑assisted workflows to accelerate coding, scripting, and problem‑solving—while exercising strong technical judgment and production discipline.

Responsibilities:
Work cross‑functionally to unblock teams and ensure content lands cleanly in‑engine
Build, maintain, and evolve asset and content pipelines from DCC tools (e.g., Maya, Blender, Houdini, Substance) into Unity
Support and troubleshoot rigging and animation workflows for real‑time gameplay
Contribute to graphics and visual implementation, including shader setup and shader programming
Implement and support real‑time VFX, including particle systems and gameplay effects in Unity
Handle visual finishing tasks such as compositing and polish to bring content to a shippable bar
Profile and optimize content for wearable hardware (memory, draw calls, shader complexity, load times, and frame budget)
Embrace an automation‑first mindset by building scripts and tools to reduce manual work and improve consistency
Use AI tools responsibly to speed up development, tooling, debugging, and iteration
Document tools, pipelines, and workflows to enable team self‑sufficiency and repeatable processes

We are a company committed to creating diverse and inclusive environments where people can bring their full, authentic selves to work every day. We are an equal opportunity/affirmative action employer that believes everyone matters. Qualified candidates will receive consideration for employment regardless of their race, color, ethnicity, religion, sex (including pregnancy), sexual orientation, gender identity and expression, marital status, national origin, ancestry, genetic factors, age, disability, protected veteran status, military or uniformed service member status, or any other status or characteristic protected by applicable laws, regulations, and ordinances. Required Skills & Experience

5+ years of experience as a traditional Technical Artist supporting real‑time game development teams
Hands‑on experience in Unity and C#, including runtime integration and debugging
Proven expertise in pipeline development and workflow optimization
Solid rigging knowledge with the ability to diagnose and fix animation and rigging issues
Working knowledge of shaders and shader programming in real‑time environments
Hands‑on experience profiling and optimizing real‑time content for performance‑constrained hardware
Experience with common DCC tools used in game pipelines such as Maya and/or Blender (Houdini and Substance are a plus)
Python experience for tooling, automation, or pipeline scripting, with a strong preference for automation over manual workflows
Experience using AI‑assisted coding and workflow tools as part of daily development (e.g., Claude or similar)
Strong communication skills with the ability to translate between art, design, and engineering disciplines
High versatility and comfort wearing multiple hats to unblock urgent production needs
Familiarity with common game development systems and production workflows

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

Experience building content for wearables, AR, or VR, where performance constraints are critical
Experience helping teams take projects from prototype to ship
Strong graphics or real‑time rendering background (materials, rendering pipelines, visual optimization)
VFX and gameplay effects experience, including particle systems and real‑time effect implementation in Unity
Deeper experience with compositing and real‑time content finishing
Track record of creating and maintaining cross‑disciplinary tools, workflows, and documentation
Interest in emerging AI‑augmented game development workflows and production‑safe applications
