We are looking for an Executive Assistant / Paralegal for a public higher‑education organization in Bakersfield, CA. This role will provide direct legal and executive support to senior leadership, assisting with litigation support, legal research, and confidential legal operations.
Job Logistics
• Shifts / Hours: Full‑time, 7:30 AM Start & Half Day Fridays
• Summer Schedule (May-August): Four 10 Hour Days, No Fridays
• Location: Bakersfield, CA
• Work model: Onsite
• Tools/Tech: Microsoft Office, legal research tools
DAY TO DAY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Perform paralegal‑level legal research and document drafting
• Support litigation, investigations, and legal timelines
• Manage confidential legal files and deadlines
• Coordinate with executive leadership and outside counsel
Compensation: $37/hour to $44/hour. Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education. Benefit packages for this role will start on the 1st day of employment and include medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as HSA, FSA, and DCFSA account options, and 401k retirement account access with employer matching. Employees in this role are also entitled to paid sick leave and/or other paid time off as provided by applicable law.
