Job Description

The VHDL Design Engineer will be responsible for the development, verification, and integration of VHDL-based digital designs supporting complex hardware systems. This role involves close collaboration with cross‑functional engineering teams, hands-on prototype development, board‑and system‑level debug, and support through production. The ideal candidate has strong VHDL expertise, worked heavily with OSVVM, experience with modern digital design and simulation toolchains, and the ability to work in a regulated defense environment.

Required Skills & Experience

- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) or -Computer Engineering (BSCE) with 5+ years of relevant experience, or Master’s degree with 3+ years of experience, or PhD with 1+ year of experience
- Strong hands-on experience with VHDL writing, design, and verification
- Expertise working with OSVVM
- Proficiency with digital design, simulation, and development tools. Xilinx ISE is preferred but can have Vivado, Altera Quartus, ModelSim and/or QuestaSim
- Experience with board-level or system-level debugging
- Experience setting up and using common laboratory and test equipment
- Proven ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional engineering teams
- Demonstrated experience supporting prototype design, build, and production testing
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance with SAP eligibility

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

- Experience developing VHDL-based design requirements and maintaining traceability to system requirements, technical references, and documentation
- Familiarity with multilayer PCB design, signal integrity, and RF communication systems
-Experience working in a dynamic team environment within aerospace
