Job Description
Our client, a leading organization in the insurance services space, is modernizing its data environment from legacy on-prem SQL systems to a Snowflake data platform as part of a broader effort to replace core systems and support new and expanding lines of business. They are seeking a Data Product Owner to take ownership of data products across reporting, analytics, and business use cases in a highly visible, build-focused environment. This individual will partner closely with business stakeholders, data engineering, and BI teams to define data models, establish data requirements, and ensure data is structured and delivered in a way that supports financial and operational reporting. The role will focus on bringing clarity and direction to a data environment that is currently not well understood across teams, validating data models and outputs, aligning stakeholders on definitions and priorities, and helping drive the evolution toward a scalable, self-service data platform with growing AI-driven capabilities.

Required Skills & Experience
- 7-10+ years of experience in Product Owner/Product Manager roles within data, analytics, or data platform environments, ideally within the insurance industry
- Proven experience owning and delivering data products end-to-end (not just backlog or feature management)
- At least 2+ years of experience supporting cloud data platforms (Snowflake, Databricks, or similar)
- Experience working closely with data engineering teams on pipelines, transformations, and data models
- Ability to translate business requirements into data solutions (models, logic, reporting outputs)
- Experience supporting reporting and analytics use cases (financial, operational, or BI-driven)
- Strong stakeholder management skills across business and technical teams
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
- Exposure to or experience supporting AI/ML or data-driven product initiatives (ie. LLM-based use cases, natural language querying, etc.)
- Experience in insurance, financial services, or other regulated industries
- Background in data engineering, BI/analytics, or technical product ownership
- Familiarity with SQL and data validation
