Job Description
A major publicly traded company in the travel industry is looking for a Jr. Business Analyst to support enterprise and shipboard technology systems that power onboard operations, finance, and guest commerce across our global fleet. In this role, you will translate complex operational and financial needs into clear functional requirements that guide system design, development, and delivery. You’ll partner closely with engineering, finance, product, and shipboard teams to ensure system behavior aligns with real‑world workflows, regulatory requirements, and audit standards. This role plays a critical part in ensuring the accuracy, reliability, and integrity of systems that process high‑volume, high‑value transactions used daily onboard our ships.
What You’ll Do
Define & Own Requirements
• Gather, analyze, and document business and functional requirements for assigned systems and initiatives
• Translate business needs into clear user stories, acceptance criteria, and business rules
• Own functional behavior end‑to‑end, ensuring solutions align with documented requirements throughout development and testing
Partner with Stakeholders
• Collaborate with Finance, Shipboard Operations, Shore Excursions, Guest Operations, Engineering, QA, and Product teams
• Facilitate working sessions to clarify requirements, validate assumptions, and resolve ambiguity
Support Delivery & Validation - Support UAT planning and readiness
• Partner with QA and engineering teams to confirm solutions meet requirements before release
Documentation & Compliance
• Create and maintain clear, traceable documentation supporting operational transparency and audit readiness
• Ensure business rules and functional decisions are well‑documented and retained for future reference
Shipboard Engagement
• Travel up to 10% annually to ships to support system rollouts, training, and operational readiness
Gather first‑hand insights into shipboard workflows and incorporate learnings into requirements and documentation

Required Skills & Experience
-Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field — or equivalent professional experience (open to recent graduates with no BA experience as long as the candidate has held an office/admin/coordinator job before)
-Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex system behavior to technical and non‑technical audiences
-Strong attention to detail, particularly in financial or audit‑sensitive environments and strong time management, organization, and prioritization skills
-Experience using modern documentation and collaboration tools (e.g., Lucid, Figma, or similar)
-Comfort adopting new technologies, including AI‑enabled productivity and analysis tools
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
-Any BA related, Excel, or SQL certifications
-Experience supporting transactional, financial, payment, or accounting systems
-Experience working closely with engineering and QA teams throughout the SDLC
-Experience facilitating stakeholder workshops and resolving ambiguous requirements
-Experience working in Agile or iterative delivery environments
-Experience in regulated or operationally complex industries (hospitality, travel, maritime, retail, or financial systems preferred)
-Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to bring a team environment together and a desire to help facilitate team bonding/fun activities
