Job Description
An entertainment client based in Burbank is seeking a Sr. BI Developer to join a studio and production office technology team within. This role supports development and maintenance of data models, visualizations, and custom web apps for strategic dashboards and reports serving key stakeholders such as operational Studio teams and Studio Executives. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in designing and implementing dashboards, data models, and visualizations using latest technology standards, as well as develop and implement innovative techniques for measuring, analyzing, and reporting on project and various Studios data in an agile team environment.
Responsibilities
• Experience creating and maintaining reporting assets in Microstrategy (Strategy) and some custom web app dashboards with React
• Use AI‑assisted coding tools (e.g., Cursor, Claude Code) to accelerate prototyping, documentation, and development tasks while maintaining code quality and review standards.
• Maintain Microstrategy dashboards and reports and migrate some legacy analytics to a React framework, including semantic/data modeling and performance tuning/optimization.
• Analyze business requirements into technical requirements for reporting/visualizations, data models, and databases
Work with technical leads and architects to implement new standards, new technology, and tactical solutions driving the business strategy forward.

Required Skills & Experience
• 6+ years of Microstrategy (data visualization tool) Experience (or a combination of Power Bi/Tableau/Microstrategy as long as total is 6+ years and Microstrategy experience is recent)
• 5+ years of Data Warehouse Experience (they use SQL DB and Postgres/Snowflake)
• 3+ years experience with Databricks or Snowflake
• Expert in SQL and Python
• React proficiency - able to create custom web app dashboards and migrate legacy analytics to a React framework
• Experience using AI-assisted coding tools such as Cursor or Claude
• Excellent analytical and creative problem-solving skills and meticulous attention to detail
Required Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Engineering, or related technical discipline
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
• Familiarity with financial data
• Proficiency with Typescript coding
• Familiarity with Media & Entertainment data or a production technology space
