Job Description

A large automotive company in the Bay Area is looking for a Document Control Specialist, you will be the cornerstone of our information management system, ensuring the integrity, accessibility, and compliance of all infrastructure documentation. In this vital role, you will maintain our document lifecycle from creation through archival, while serving as a liaison between departments and external partners. Your expertise in document management systems and attention to detail will help our organization maintain operational excellence and compliance while supporting our team's efficiency and effectiveness.

What You'll Do
• Process incoming and outgoing documents, ensuring proper formatting, cover sheets, and quality standards
• Upload and organize files in EDMS with appropriate metadata; maintain master document register and integrity
• Initiate, track, and expedite document review cycles; send notifications for overdue items
• Arrange documents into appropriate packages (design, turnover) and support project commissioning needs
• Serve as liaison between project teams, vendors, contractors, and internal departments
• Generate reports on document status, review cycles, and maintain project distribution matrix
• Develop training materials, documentation standards, and best practices for file naming and organization

Pay Range for this role is $35 - $45 depending on years of experience and education

Required Skills & Experience

• 5+ years of Document Control experience, or Bachelor's Degree with 2+ years of experience
• EPC, R&D, Industrial or Manufacturing industry experience
• Proficient with EDMS platforms - SharePoint
• Intermediate to advanced skills in MS Office Suite
• Proven ability to maintain data integrity across large document sets (5k - 10k+ records)
• Detail-oriented with exceptional organizational skills
• Superior verbal and written communication skills; capable of training non-technical staff

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

• Autodesk Construction Cloud, OpenText, or equivalent
• Basic scripting (PowerShell, VBA)
• Aconex
• Procore
• Proven experience working on rolling out new systems
