Job Description
An employer is seeking a Data Privacy Advisor to join their team for a short term contract. This person will serve as a strategic advisor to help the company navigate increasingly complex global privacy regulations — specifically within the context of their ad-supported media network built on consumer PC hardware. The ideal candidate brings deep knowledge of how comparable companies in the media, advertising, and consumer tech space comply with privacy laws while protecting and maximizing revenue streams. This is a high-visibility role that will culminate in a C-suite level presentation and roadmap deliverable. He or she will be responsible for the below:
Conduct a comprehensive audit of the company's current data privacy posture within the Media Network (ad-supported services, shopping rewards, and related surfaces)
Identify comparable companies (e.g., Targets, Walmarts, LGs, Samsungs, Googles, Metas) and benchmark how they comply with global privacy regulations without hampering monetization
Develop a compliance strategy and roadmap that enables the company to meet global and regional privacy regulations while protecting advertising revenue streams
Quantify regulatory risk — including the likelihood and magnitude of fines — to support executive-level risk/reward decision-making
Collaborate with the internal Trusted Privacy Organization to bridge the gap between legal/regulatory knowledge and industry-specific implementation
Architect a forward-looking privacy framework tailored to company's media network model
Prepare and deliver a C-level presentation summarizing findings, recommendations, and the compliance roadmap
