Job Description

The Project Engineering Supervisor oversees a team of project engineers and interns responsible for product design, design verification, sustaining engineering, and R&D activities. This role assigns engineering tasks, defines responsibilities, monitors schedules and budgets, and ensures process improvements within the engineering organization. The supervisor also provides technical leadership across cross functional development teams, drives engineering excellence, supports certification activities, and occasionally serves as backup for senior engineering leadership.

Required Skills & Experience

• Education:
o B.S. in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering (M.S. preferred)
• Technical Background:
o 5 years MINIMUM of engineering leadership experience with direct reports (no manager title required; experience mentoring junior engineers.)
- experience with metallic or composite ducting and motion compensator design per ARP 699 OR equivalent experience in ECS/bleed air/air management systems in similar industries (see internal notes)
o Program lifecycle experience: PDR, CDR, PRR, SOF, EIS.
o Project management skills with strong interpersonal/customer interaction abilities.
o Experience writing certification documents (ATP, QTP, QTR, etc.).
o MRB engineering disposition experience.
o Participation in internal and external audits.
o Proficiency in supporting creation/interpretation of 3D models & 2D drawings (ANSI/ASME Y14.5).
o Support for manufacturing during product development (DFM and redesign support); including knowledge of sheet metal and composite manufacturing processes.
o Experience preparing cost estimates for RFQs and scope changes.

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

• Experience with FEA/FEM tools (e.g., NASTRAN, PATRAN, ANSYS, FEMAP).
• Experience with CAD tools such as CATIA V5 or SolidWorks.
• LabVIEW experience for data acquisition/control.
Aircraft certification experience with EASA, Transport Canada, CAAC, and/or FAA 14 CFR Part 25.
