Job Description

A client in downtown Los Angeles is looking for an Infrastructure Engineer to join their small but dynamic team. This person will be responsible for project-based work as well as handling tickets, reaching about 10-15 tickets on busier days. Day to day responsibilities include:
- Designs, implements, administers and supports cloud, systems and network environments
- Integrates IT systems; Leads efforts to create network redundancy and scalable network
- Administers and supports Microsoft, Dell, Cisco, Veeam, and VMware technologies
- Prepares and maintains detailed documentation of network configurations and cabling layouts, hardware equipment, etc.
- Organizes and maintains hardware equipment, cables, racks, and cabinets in the data center
- Designs agency desktop/laptop computer configurations
- Recommends design improvements and modifications to the network and related systems to align with the organization’s changing needs
- Maintains all forms of network storage
- Designs, develops and migrates applications to a Cloud environment running on AWS, Azure, etc.
- Advocates across organization with hands-on Cloud adoption best practices, Cloud security best practices and Cloud maintenance/upgrade practices
- Responsible for data backup operations and follows procedures to ensure that all data backups are successful, secure and recoverable
- Serves as back up to Help Desk support; Provides end user technical assistance and support as necessary
- Develops security policies and information protection strategies
- Performs information security risk assessments and serves as the internal IT auditor for information security processes
- Anticipates new security threats and stays up to date with evolving infrastructures
- Monitors security vulnerabilities, threats and events in network and host systems

Required Skills & Experience

- 8+ years of infrastructure engineering experience (design, build, maintain, upgrade, configure, operate and manage security for systems and network)
- Cisco routing and switching
- Cisco Meraki for Wi-Fi
- Extensive network, cloud and server security (firewalls, patching)
- Experience supporting Microsoft products including SharePoint, MS Teams, Outlook (troubleshooting networking and other connection issues and escalations)
- Cloud networking (Azure preferred)
- Industry certification such as CompTIA Network+/Net+, CCNA, CCNP, CCIE, Security+/Sec+, Azure fundamental certification, Microsoft/MCSE

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

Experience migrating from VoIP to Microsoft Teams phone systems, or Zoom for business
Network automation
