Job Description

A Pharmaceutical company based on San Diego, CA is seeking an IT Compliance Business Partner to join their team. The IT Compliance Business Partner serves as the primary liaison between Compliance, Legal, and Information Technology (IT), ensuring that technology solutions effectively support compliance objectives in a regulated environment. This role partners closely with business stakeholders to assess current systems, improve data integrity and reporting, and implement scalable, compliant technology solutions that reduce manual effort and enhance operational efficiency. A successful applicant would come from a background in Commercial Pharmaceuticals and/or Legal/Compliance Pharmaceutical.

Required Skills & Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business, or a related field
6+ years of experience supporting, managing and implementing, technical requirements for programs or projects related to IT Departments Compliance, Legal, or Risk functions/controls.
Strong understanding of compliance-driven business processes within a regulated industry (pharmaceutical, life science, healthcare, biotech)
Demonstrated experience acting as a bridge between business stakeholders and IT, translating compliance and business requirements into needs into technical requirements and system solutions
Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to work cross-functionally across Compliance, Legal, IT, Finance, and external vendors
Proven ability to prioritize competing requests, manage multiple initiatives simultaneously, and deliver solutions in a fast-paced environment
Ability to evaluate existing systems and vendors, identify gaps, and recommend improvements or alternative solutions aligned with compliance need

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

Experience supporting compliance-specific systems such as Transparency / Spend Reporting platforms, Learning Management Systems (LMS), ethics hotlines, incident management, or risk‑based monitoring tools
Hands-on experience with data integration, data flow mapping, or system documentation, particularly in support of audits or regulatory inquiries
Familiarity with regulatory frameworks such as FDA, SOX, Sunshine Act, HIPAA, GDPR, or global data privacy requirements
Exposure to data analytics or reporting tools used to identify trends, anomalies, or compliance risks
