Job Description
Insight Global is looking for a Sr. Mechanical Engineer to focus on early-stage product and technology exploration, developing mechanical concepts, architectures, and prototypes that enable future product platforms. This role works upstream of formal product development to evaluate new technologies, assess feasibility, and reduce technical risk before programs transition into full-scale development.
This individual translates high-level product concepts into functional mechanical systems and experimental prototypes. They perform hands-on design, modeling, and testing to understand system behavior and inform engineering decisions. The role requires strong technical depth across materials, mechanisms, thermal management, and structural design, along with a practical approach to rapid prototyping and iterative development.
Compensation: up to $155k + Health/Dental/Vision/401k Benefits

Required Skills & Experience
• 6–10 years of experience in mechanical engineering with significant work in product development, R&D, or advanced concept development.
• Strong experience designing mechanical components using injection-molded plastics, machined components, and sheet metal.
• Demonstrated experience with rapid prototyping and iterative design.
• Proficiency in CAD tools (SolidWorks preferred).
• Strong understanding of mechanical fundamentals including materials, mechanisms, thermal management, and structural behavior.
• Experience designing mechanical systems that integrate with electronics or embedded systems preferred.
• Ability to move quickly from concept to prototype and iterate based on experimental results.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills across multidisciplinary engineering teams.
• Skilled in Microsoft tools: Teams, Excel, Visio, Project, Word.
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
