Job Description
Insight Global is looking for a Data Analyst to join one of the world's leading technology companies. The Research & Data Analyst will serve as a supporting member of the Location Strategy team, contributing to the data collection, organization, and analysis activities that underpin data center site identification and development. This is a junior-to-mid level role well suited for an early-career professional with 2–3 years of relevant experience who is eager to grow within a fast-moving infrastructure and real estate environment. The successful candidate will bring foundational analytical skills, a detail-oriented work ethic, and a genuine interest in location-based research and data-driven decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
Spatial & Location Data Processing The analyst will support the processing and maintenance of geographic and spatial datasets used to evaluate potential data center sites. Responsibilities include organizing data layers, performing basic spatial queries, and ensuring data accuracy and completeness across location-related inputs. Familiarity with GIS tools is a plus and will be developed on the job; prior GIS experience is not required.
Data Management & Quality Control The analyst will assist in maintaining structured databases and data repositories that support the team's ongoing research activities. Day-to-day tasks include data entry, data validation, and basic version control of datasets in accordance with the team's established standards. A foundational understanding of how data is organized and stored — whether through coursework, internship experience, or personal projects — is valued in this role.
Location Analysis & Site Evaluation Support Working under the direction of senior team members, the analyst will help compile and organize location metrics relevant to data center development. These metrics may include power and grid infrastructure availability, fiber connectivity, land use and zoning classifications, environmental constraints, and proximity to transportation corridors. The analyst will support the preparation of site summaries and comparative evaluations, contributing to the team's broader site scoring process.
Documentation & Metric Reporting The analyst will assist in maintaining standardized documentation for location metrics, research findings, and analytical outputs. This includes drafting written summaries, updating tracking logs, and producing clear, organized reports for internal review. The ability to communicate information in a structured, readable format is an important part of this role.
Project & Task Coordination The analyst will support day-to-day task management within the Location Strategy team, including maintaining project trackers, coordinating data requests, and flagging data gaps or dependencies that may affect project timelines. Strong organizational habits and a proactive communication style are key to success in this function.
Ad Hoc Research & Analysis The analyst will respond to ad hoc research requests from team members, which may include sourcing market data, summarizing industry trends, or compiling background information on specific geographies or infrastructure considerations. A curious, self-directed approach to research is highly valued.
