Data Infrastructure Product Manager

An employer is seeking a Data Infrastructure Product Manager to join their team in Palo Alto, CA. He or she will be joining the Consumer organization focusing on revenue generation streams of new business within the AdTech space and streaming services. He or she will:

• Collaborate with the engineering team to design and deploy data collection and management systems.
• Define the data collection requirements to inform the design of data schemas.
• Define the user account requirements for data management systems.
• Design content recommendation logic together with Data Scientists.
• Design customer segmentation logic together with Data Scientists.
• Analyze the customer data together with Data Analysts to identify the business opportunities.
• Define the requirements based on internal and external regulations for privacy and security, and create alignments with the stakeholders.

This is a fast paced environment and requires onsite commitment 3 days a week, Tuesday - Thursday. The hourly rate while on contract ranges from $70 - $75/hr depending on experience.

5+ years of experience managing products involving large-scale data infrastructure such as data lakes, data warehouses, or data pipelines

Experience managing SaaS products built on public cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure), with an understanding of core cloud data services including storage, compute, and managed database offerings

Ability to write or review basic data queries and transformations using SQL or Python, and comfort navigating notebook-based environments or ETL pipeline tools to validate data outputs

Understanding of both structured (relational/SQL databases) and unstructured (NoSQL, document, or key-value stores) database systems, with awareness of when different approaches are appropriate based on use case and scale

Knowledge of data security fundamentals including encryption, access control, and audit logging. Awareness of major privacy regulations such as GDPR, CCPA/CPRA, and HIPAA, with the ability to translate compliance requirements into product decisions

Familiarity with ETL/ELT patterns, batch vs. streaming processing, and data orchestration tools. Basic understanding of data quality frameworks and medallion or layered data architecture approaches
