Director of Supply Chain

Insight Global is looking for a Director of Supply Chain for a leading provider of complex composites, assemblies, and tooling in the aerospace industry. This role is responsible for the strategic and operational oversight of procurement, production planning, inventory control, logistics, and supplier management. This is a direct hire role, located in Brea, CA. Job responsibilities will include:

• Lead and oversee end-to-end supply chain operations for an aerospace & defense manufacturer, bringing 10+ years of industry experience.
• Establish and drive Sales, Inventory & Operations Planning (SIOP) to improve demand forecasting, inventory alignment, and operational execution.
• Own and optimize ERP utilization, with strong experience in Epicor (SAP experience acceptable), ensuring systems are used correctly and consistently across teams.
• Assess, structure, and develop the supply chain organization, including planning, purchasing (≈10 team members), and inventory management (≈5 team members).
• Ensure full compliance with AS9100 / AS9001 quality standards, integrating requirements into daily supply chain processes.
• Design, implement, and standardize processes and SOPs to improve efficiency, scalability, and cross-functional alignment.
• Address current operational gaps, particularly around underutilization or incorrect use of ERP systems, and lead corrective improvements.
• Drive strategic sourcing initiatives, including supplier selection, contract negotiations, and cost reduction strategies while maintaining quality and delivery performance.

• BA Degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration, Engineering, or related field
• 10+ years of aerospace & defense supply chain experience, owning end-to-end operations in a manufacturing environment.
• Proven leader in SIOP implementation, driving accurate forecasting, inventory optimization, and execution discipline
• Demonstrated experience managing supply chain operations supporting programs, including raw materials (prepreg, resins, core materials), hardware and complex engineered components
• ERP experience - strong Epicor experience preferred (SAP acceptable); history of fixing underutilized or misused systems.
• Demonstrated success leading supply chain teams, including planning, purchasing, and inventory (team of 15)
• Deep expertise in AS9100 / AS9001 compliance, process standardization, and strategic sourcing, delivering cost, quality, and delivery improvements.
