Job Description

Insight Global is seeking a Sr Virtualization and storage Engineer to support a large government customer. This person will be responsible for VMware ESXI environments and Dell Enterprise storage Systems.

Core Job Duties include:

· Experience operating within DoD cybersecurity frameworks (RMF, STIG compliance).

· VMware vSphere / ESXi

· vCenter administration

· Dell enterprise storage platforms

· Experience supporting DoD or classified environments.

· Strong troubleshooting skills across compute, storage, and network layers.



Additional responsibilities include:

Virtualization Engineering

o Engineer, administer, and optimize VMware vSphere / ESXi environments.

o Manage clusters, resource pools, distributed switches, and high availability configurations.

o Perform host lifecycle management, patching, and upgrades.

o Troubleshoot performance issues across compute, memory, and network virtualization layers.

o Design and maintain resilient virtualization architectures supporting classified workloads.

o Support VM provisioning automation and integration with DevSecOps workflows.



Storage Engineering

Engineer and administer Dell enterprise storage platforms (PowerStore, Unity, PowerMax, or equivalent).
Configure and manage SAN/NAS environments.
Implement LUN provisioning, storage tiering, replication, and snapshot strategies.
Optimize storage performance and capacity planning.
Ensure backup integrity and disaster recovery readiness.
Troubleshoot storage connectivity and performance issues (iSCSI, FC, NFS, etc.)
Mission & DevSecOps Integration

Support containerized and traditional VM-based workloads.
Integrate virtualization platforms into secure CI/CD and infrastructure automation efforts.
Support compliance with DISA STIGs, RMF controls, and DoD cybersecurity requirements.
Collaborate with Windows, cloud, network, and security engineers to maintain secure and resilient infrastructure.
Contribute to automation efforts using scripting (PowerShell, PowerCLI, Python, etc.).
Maintain architecture documentation and operational runbooks.

Required Skills & Experience

Active Secret Clearance
IAT II (Sec+ or higher)
10+ Years of Experience in a mid or senior position
5+ Years of Experience managing a ESXI environment
5+ Years of experience working and managing Vsphere
Experience with Dell Enterprise storage
Experience with RMF/STIG compliance
