Job Description

Seeking an experienced Project Controls Analyst II to support civil and gas-related construction projects. This role is ideal for a data-driven PCA who is comfortable working across multiple functional areas, building forecasting tools, and using Excel and SAP to drive project insights. The PCA II will support project forecasting, cost controls, and reporting, while also contributing to process improvement and knowledge sharing across the PCA team.

Onsite in San Ramon - 1x/month!

Required Skills & Experience

Support project controls for civil and construction work, with a strong focus on forecasting and cost management
Develop, maintain, and enhance in-house Excel-based PCA dashboards for forecasting and reporting
Analyze project data to identify trends, risks, and variances
Partner with project managers, engineers, and other functional teams to support project execution
Perform forecasting activities using Excel-based tools
Leverage SAP for cost tracking, reporting, and financial analysis
Participate in site visits to better understand field conditions and project impacts
Support and participate in monthly in-person meetings in San Ramon
Provide informal training or knowledge sharing, including mini-trainings for other PCAs
Ask questions, challenge assumptions, and continuously look for ways to improve data quality and reporting
Required Qualifications
Experience as a Project Controls Analyst (PCA I or PCA II) supporting construction or utility projects
Strong Excel skills at an intermediate to expert level, including building and managing dashboards
Comfortable working with large datasets and “playing with data” to uncover insights
SAP experience required
Strong forecasting experience
Willingness to perform site visits as needed
Curious mindset with the ability to ask thoughtful questions
Comfortable working in a complex organization with multiple functional areas

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

Gas experience strongly preferred
Prior experience at PG&E or a similar large utility or organization with many functional groups
Civil construction background is a plus
Experience supporting utility gas projects
Experience mentoring or informally training other PCAs
