Job Description

Insight Global is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Bill of Materials (BOM) Engineering Manager with specialized experience in electronic Printed Circuit Board (PCB) manufacturing and assembly. This BOM Manager is responsible for the creation, maintenance, accuracy, and lifecycle management of BOMs used in the production of electronic assemblies, ensuring alignment with engineering specifications, procurement standards, and manufacturing processes.

The ideal candidate will serve as a key liaison between Engineering, Quality, Procurement, and Manufacturing teams to ensure BOMs are optimized for cost, manufacturability, and scalability.

This role supports engineering work that helps identify and define new restoration capabilities for the Navy’s C4ISR Restoration Depot, including designing, evaluating, planning, testing, and operating C4ISR electrical, electronic, mechanical, and/or computer components, equipment, and systems.

Key Responsibilities:
• Develop, manage, and maintain accurate and complete multi-level BOMs for all electronic products, including PCB Assemblies (PCBAs), sub-assemblies, and final products.
• Collaborate with hardware engineers and PCB designers to interpret electrical schematics, part lists, and design documentation to generate accurate BOMs.
• Ensure BOMs are fully detailed with correct part numbers, quantities, approved alternates, manufacturer part numbers, and sourcing data.
• Work closely with Procurement to identify and validate component availability, lifecycle status (e.g., NRND, End-of-Life (EOL)), and cost-effective alternatives.
• Review and implement Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) and ensure timely BOM updates in the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and PLM systems.
• Manage BOM version control and ensure traceability for all revisions throughout the product lifecycle.
• Support New Product Introduction (NPI) by coordinating BOM readiness, cost analysis, and release to manufacturing.
• Coordinate with equipment manufacturers to ensure BOMs are manufactural and aligned with production requirements.
• Implement Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Cost (DFC) best practices in BOM structuring.
• Monitor compliance with industry standards (RoHS, REACH, etc.) and ensure all BOM components meet applicable regulatory requirements.
• Drive continuous improvement in BOM management processes, tools, and data accuracy.
