a top client is seeking a highly skilled Senior Systems Administration engineer with extensive Active Directory skillsets to lead our AD, Azure and Identity Management technical domain supporting Solano County. Duties and Responsibilities:
• Lead and manage the AD, Azure and Identity Management duties impacting Solano County’s IT infrastructure.
• Ensure high availability, security, and optimal performance of government systems and applications.
• Develop and enforce IT policies, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal security regulations.
• Oversee cloud computing environments, on-premises servers, with a major focus on AD redesign and security
• Work closely with county departments to align technology solutions with operational needs.
• Manage vendor relationships and technology procurement to optimize cost-effectiveness.
• Mentor and help develop system administrators, fostering a culture of excellence and collaboration.
• Establish KPIs and monitoring systems to enhance IT efficiency and service delivery.

Required Skills & Experience
-10+ years of server-side experience with on-prem active directory + Entra ID (Azure AD)
-previous experience consolidating an Active Directory environment and cleaning up domain controllers
-Strong general System admin experience (Windows, VMware, imaging, etc)
-Well versed with Azure technology
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
• Certifications such as AD, ITIL, PMP, Microsoft Azure Solutions Architect, VMWare, other Microsoft Certifications
• Experience with virtualization technologies, automation tools, and enterprise storage solutions.
• Familiarity with government-specific software and compliance frameworks.
