IT Director

Summary
VICI is seeking a Director of Information Technology to lead our team and technology stack, including cloud infrastructure, networks, storage, communication, collaboration and internal applications and systems. This position will lead the team that is responsible for ensuring the availability, integrity and security for all IT systems and infrastructure. This leader will work closely with the executive leadership team and cross functional groups.

Our ideal candidate will be a technically experienced, self-starter with exceptional leadership and communication skills. This individual must have the ability to successfully assess and execute on multiple critical projects in a fast-paced startup environment. They must be able to translate complex technical requirements into business-friendly language that can be digested and discussed with the executive team. This individual will have strong experience architecting and building a technology stack for highly secure environments running an enterprise Saas application. We need an innovative visionary and results-oriented professional who can lead technology strategy with an in-depth tactical understanding driven by past hands-on expertise.

Role Overview & Strategy
• Focus: The position is designed for a visionary "change leader" rather than a hands-on coder.
• Expectations: The candidate must be able to move the department away from a "chaos" environment toward one driven by strategy and a clear roadmap.
• Key Skill: While they won't be building systems themselves, they must deeply understand how to fix or manage technical failures within the environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES
• Partners with company leadership on enterprise- wide technology infrastructure strategy and execution.
• Works closely with business stakeholders, including the e-Commerce, marketing, customer experience, product management, planning, and operations teams to align technology roadmaps and priorities.
• Plans and manages IT implementations identifying opportunities for automation, cost savings and service quality improvements.
• Thinks critically about the business operations and constantly strives to improve and harden the security and resilience of our business platforms.
• Develops the technology management capabilities of the organization, while managing and developing existing staff
• Enables innovation and seeks to leverage IT trends that can create business value consistent with the company's overall business strategy.
• Works closely with IT vendors and assesses their capabilities and any associated data or access risks.
• Generate a short and long-term technology plan with a continuous improvement mindset.
• Builds and manages budgets and forecasts, maximizing value delivery within set guardrails
• Utilizes technical depth enabling problem-solving leadership and engagement and communication with key partners within the business.
• Authorizes and oversees the deployment, monitoring, maintenance and support of all hardware, software, networking and telecommunications systems or platforms based on business needs.
• Oversees all disaster recovery and business continuity, including planning, documentation, implementation and testing for all critical business platforms.

Technical Environment & Platforms
The team is looking for someone comfortable with a direct-to-consumer (D2C) tech stack:
• Primary Platforms: Shopify Plus (Priority #1) and NetSuite.
• Integrations & WMS: Use of Boomi for integrations and Manhattan for Warehouse Management.
• Data: Utilization of Snowflake, 5tran, and Tableau for business analytics.
• Future Innovation: A strong emphasis on AI concepts and "agentic" workflows within Shopify to drive operational efficiency.


Candidate Profile
• Experience: Candidates should come from nimble, fast-paced B2C/Retail backgrounds (e.g., companies like Quay or Princess Polly) rather than massive corporate IT departments like Levi Strauss.
• Mindset: Must be flexible enough to jump into projects that weren't on the original roadmap and provide proactive offers to help the business evolve.

MUST HAVES:

• Self-starter that learns and adapts quickly to frequently changing priorities.
• 10+ years of experience in progressive technology positions
• 5+ years of experience building and managing high-performing technical teams, setting goals and crafting plans to achieve them.
• Prior experience as an IT leader at an eCommerce startup in growth mode OR IT Leader at an Ecommerce company in hypergrowth stages
• Deep understanding of Shopify Plus, Netsuite, Boomi and WMS systems (Ranked: Netsuite, shopify, WMS, then Boomi)
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Experience with system provisioning, administration, security and configuration management as an early IT employee in a fast-paced environment.
• Strategic and analytical thinker who can research products and analyze data to make appropriate process/business recommendations.
• Results oriented leader that possesses a strong ability to influence and is comfortable working in a fast-paced and multi-tasking environment.
• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field; Advanced degree preferred OR Equivalent Work Experience
• Experience managing both Google Workspace & Office 365 Environments.
• Windows and Mobile Device management for a distributed and diversified workforce.
