Core Purpose
The Calibrations Supervisor ensures precision, compliance, and technical excellence in the calibration of RF and electrical instrumentation while leading technicians within an accredited ISO/IEC 17025 environment.

Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Oversight
• Supervise daily operations in the Electrical/RF Lab.
• Train, mentor, and support technicians.
• Ensure strict compliance with ISO/IEC 17025 standards and NIST traceability.
Technical Calibration
• Perform and oversee calibration of RF/Microwave equipment including:
o Signal Generators
o Spectrum Analyzers
o Power Meters
• Calibrate electronic instruments such as:
o Digital Multimeters
o Oscilloscopes
o Hipot Testers
• Conduct certified calibrations following established procedures and uncertainty requirements.
• Apply strong manual calibration knowledge and the technical understanding behind each step.
Quality & Compliance
• Review calibration reports for accuracy, traceability, and proper documentation.
• Support audits, corrective actions, and continuous improvement.
• Maintain compliance in a high precision, accredited lab environment.
Workflow & Lab Operations
• Manage workload, turnaround times, scheduling, and overtime based on demand.
• Maintain a safe, controlled, and organized lab environment.
• Assist with process optimization and equipment readiness.
Collaboration
• Partner with engineering and QA teams to resolve complex calibration issues.
• Support technician development and RF calibration proficiency.

Required Skills & Experience
Experience
• 5+ years of hands on Electrical and RF calibration experience.
• Experience calibrating multiple RF devices weekly in a high volume lab environment.
• Ability to clearly explain calibration theory and methodology.
Technical Expertise
• Strong understanding of:
o ISO/IEC 17025
o Measurement uncertainty
o NIST traceability
o DOD/PMEL/TMDE calibration procedures
• Extensive experience calibrating RF instruments (Signal Generators, Spectrum Analyzers, Power Meters).
• Ability to perform certified calibrations (not pre use checks or basic functional tests).
Tools & Software
• Calibration software and lab databases
• Microsoft Office
Soft Skills
• Strong communication and leadership abilities
• Excellent troubleshooting and decision making skills
• Ability to train and mentor technicians
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
Preferred Background
• Military calibration experience (PMEL, TMDE, NAVSEA, DOD).
• Experience in aerospace, medical device, EMC testing, or other precision driven industries.
• Prior supervisory or lead technician experience.
