Job Description
We are seeking a highly seasoned and hands-on SAP HANA Data Architect to drive the design, implementation, and optimization of our critical, large-scale analytics services running on SAP HANA. This role requires deep expertise in HANA columnar engine modeling, performance tuning, and resource management. The Architect will serve as the technical authority, providing direct guidance and mentorship to data modelers and leading the strategic architectural planning, including the potential re-architecture and integration of workloads with Databricks.
Additional Responsibilities:
1. SAP HANA Architecture, Modeling, & Optimization (Core Focus)
· Modeling & Design: Lead the design and implementation of highly optimized data models (e.g., Calculation Views) on SAP HANA to support critical analytics and integration targets.
· Technical Guidance & Mentorship: Serve as the technical expert for data modelers across all levels, providing hands-on guidance on design principles, schema efficiency, memory optimization, and advanced SQL/T-SQL techniques (e.g., Type 2 modeling).
· Performance Tuning: Expertly optimize query performance, analyze execution plans, and enforce best practices for SAP HANA development.
· Resource Management & Governance: Manage workload classes, establish visibility into resource usage, and lead efforts on workload management, memory utilization, and supporting automation.
Cost & Reporting: Implement internal reporting and recharge models to accurately track and report customer/departmental resource consumption and usage.

Required Skills & Experience
- SAP HANA Architecture - Minimum 5 years of dedicated, hands-on experience with SAP HANA architecture.
- HANA Modeling- Deep understanding of HANA engines, HDI development environment, and complex Calculation Views.
-SQL & Advanced Concepts-
-Performance & Resource Mgmt.- Expertise in access plans, execution plans, and memory optimization. Proven ability to manage large-scale (multi-terabyte) HANA environments.
-Leadership & Mentorship- Demonstrated ability to lead technical architecture decisions and provide direct guidance and code optimization mentorship to other data modelers.-
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
-Databricks/Platform Strategy- Strong functional knowledge of the Databricks platform, Apache Spark, and Delta Lake architecture, especially in the context of platform re-architecture/integration (a significant requirement).
