Job Description
Insight Global is seeking a Staff Engineer to join a major initiative driving California’s behavioral health modernization. This role is central to building scalable, reliable systems that serve millions and improve lives. As a technical leader, you will own architecture and delivery for critical platform components while remaining deeply hands-on in implementation. The ideal candidate combines technical excellence, leadership, and pragmatic execution to deliver healthcare infrastructure at scale.
Key Responsibilities
Team Ownership & Delivery
Own technical success for your product area—accountable for architecture, quality, and delivery outcomes.
Drive team velocity and engineering excellence through hands-on leadership and clear technical direction.
Balance technical rigor with shipping pragmatism to deliver reliable features on schedule.
Technical Leadership & Architecture
Lead architectural design for services and integration within the broader platform ecosystem.
Make critical decisions on implementation approaches, technology choices, and system design.
Establish team-level engineering standards aligned with organizational practices.
Hands-On Engineering
Contribute production code for complex features and critical system components (40%+ time allocation).
Debug and resolve issues spanning multiple services and system boundaries.
Lead technical implementation of challenging projects through direct contribution.
Mentorship & Collaboration
Mentor engineers through code reviews, pairing, and architecture discussions.
Partner with product managers and designers to align technical approach with product vision.
Collaborate across engineering teams on integration points and shared infrastructure.
System Design & Quality
Design robust APIs and services that scale efficiently and integrate seamlessly.
Champion engineering excellence through testing, monitoring, and operational best practices.

Required Skills & Experience
8+ years of software engineering experience with strong distributed systems background.
Hands on experience programming in C#, GoLang, Java and/or Python
Proven expertise in cloud infrastructure tools, including helm, kubernetes, docker, terraform, argoCD, and/or Datadog
Hands on experience working with large data systems, ideally with Elasticsearch, Kafka and/or databricks
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
Demonstrated experience in consulting or advisory roles to customers around data transformation
Experience in GenAI
