Applications Security Specialist

Insight Global is seeking an experienced Applications Security Specialist to join the business applications team of one of their top clients in the insurance brokerage space. This individual will act as a proactive liaison and advocate for security within the business applications group, ensuring all enterprise applications meet corporate governance standards and comply with regulatory requirements. The role involves collaborating with IT Security, business units, and third-party vendors to assess risks, implement security controls, and foster a security-aware culture across the organization. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience securing SaaS applications, conducting audits, managing vulnerabilities, and ensuring compliance with frameworks such as HIPAA, NIST, and ISSO. This position requires strong technical knowledge, excellent communication skills, and the ability to lead initiatives that enhance security posture for critical enterprise business applications.

• Strong knowledge of IT governance, risk, and control best practices and experience securing SaaS applications (e.g., Salesforce, Applied Systems Epic, HubSpot, Zoho, Agency Block, Oracle)
• Expertise in vulnerability assessment and incident management with familiarity with cryptography and encryption techniques for sensitive data
• Ability to perform security audits and onboard new applications into governance systems
• Experience with ServiceNow for KPI tracking and application security scorecards
• Proficiency in API security protocols, code reviews, and token-based authentication
• Understanding of regulatory compliance frameworks: HIPAA, NIST, ISSO

• Familiarity with third-party risk management and integrations
Hands-on experience with secure coding practices and API protocols
