Job Description
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Manages the development of applications, prepared testimony, exhibits and work papers for
all general rate case applications as well as other applications filed with the California Public
Utilities Commission (CPUC)
• Serves as Project Manager for processing regulatory applications through the CPUC
• Provides testimony at hearings involving general rate case and other regulatory proceedings
• Represents the Company in industry-wide proceedings and workshops at the CPUC and other
regulatory agencies
• Maintains open communication with Accounting Department regarding rate issues
• Provides expertise and advice on regulatory issues to operating and accounting personnel as
needed
• Maintains ongoing contact with CPUC to obtain status of current rate issues, rules and
regulations. Develops rapport with CPUC staff and Commissioners to consistently
communicate company information and gather insight relevant to regulatory issues facing the
company and the Commission
• Responsible for performing complex regulatory, accounting, budgetary and statistical analysis
• Communicates relevant CPUC related issues to Company personnel
• Interacts with customers when necessary to discuss rate-related matters
• Supervises and develops assigned regulatory personnel
• Ensures compliance with regulatory deadlines established by the CPUC and governmental
agencies
PAY RANGE $140,000-180,000 ANNUALLY

Required Skills & Experience
MINIMUM POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in
accounting, mathematics, economics, business, engineering, environmental or resource
planning, or a related discipline required
• Seven to ten years of verifiable work experience in accounting or finance or utility regulatory
analysis
• Demonstrated knowledge and experience in researching, analyzing and preparing statistical
and analytical studies
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Ability to prepare statistical and analytical studies using spreadsheets and word processing
software
• Proven ability of completing multiple project assignments
• Utility experience in a regulatory environment strongly preferred
• Proficiency in Microsoft applications (advanced Excel skills preferred)
• Two years’ supervisory experience preferred
