Job Summary: Lead the technical architecture and vision for next-generation Customer Data Store platform. This influential role will drive critical architectural decisions for a high-volume, low-latency data platform leveraging GCP’s cutting-edge technologies including Spanner, Bigtable, and serverless architectures. The ideal candidate will serve as the primary technical influencer, working closely with executive stakeholders to align technical strategy with business objectives.
Essential Responsibilities: - Define and drive the overall technical architecture for the Customer Data Store platform supporting 100K+ TPS - Lead Oracle to GCP migration strategy, ensuring zero-downtime transition - Make technical decisions affecting multiple teams across organizational boundaries - Establish architectural conventions, patterns, and best practices for the entire engineering organization - Partner with Product Owner and business stakeholders to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions - Evaluate and recommend optimal GCP service mix (Spanner, Bigtable, BigQuery) based on use case requirements - Design polyglot persistence strategies leveraging appropriate data services - Drive technical excellence through architecture reviews, design documentation, and hands-on prototyping - Mentor and guide distributed teams across San Jose and Bangalore locations - external forums, conferences, and with cloud partners
Required Qualifications: - Minimum 12 years of software engineering experience with focus on distributed systems - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience - Deep expertise in cloud-native architectures (GCP preferred, AWS/Azure acceptable) - Proven experience migrating large-scale systems from traditional RDBMS to cloud-native solutions - Strong background in both SQL and NoSQL database technologies - Experience with high-throughput, low-latency system design - Excellence in technical communication with both technical and non-technical audiences - Track record of influencing architectural decisions at enterprise scale

Required Skills & Experience
Technical Skills Required:
- 10+yrs of experience
- Expert-level Java development (Java 21+) with Spring Boot and Spring Cloud
- Deep understanding of reactive programming with Spring WebFlux and Project Reactor
- Experience with microservices patterns: Circuit Breaker, Saga, CQRS, Event Sourcing
- Hands-on experience with GCP services: Spanner, Bigtable, Cloud Run, Dataflow
- Infrastructure as Code expertise with Terraform
- Strong understanding of distributed systems concepts: CAP theorem, consensus algorithms
- Experience with observability tools and practices (distributed tracing, metrics, logging)
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
Preferred Qualifications: - Experience with GCP services - Knowledge of reactive programming with Spring WebFlux - Experience with gRPC and GraphQL - Familiarity with containerization and Kubernetes
