As a Product Owner in Studio Technology, you will be responsible for defining and driving the “why” and “what” of our most critical API-first, and AI powered workflows. You will partner closely with engineering to shape intelligent, scalable platforms that power the Studio’s digital supply chain, ensuring our solutions are reliable, interoperable, and aligned with long-term strategy. This role requires both strong technical fluency in modern platform architectures and the ability to empathize with users, balance stakeholder needs, and clearly articulate product value.
Responsibilities
● Product Vision and Roadmap: Define product objectives, prioritize backlog items, and maintain a roadmap that aligns with business goals, user needs, and long-term platform strategy.
● Technical Fluency in APIs & Workflows: Translate business and user requirements into API definitions, workflow scenarios, and system-level behaviors. Ensure payload structures, integration points, and dependencies are well understood.
● Backlog Ownership: Write and refine high-quality user stories and epics with a focus on both functional outcomes and developer experience. Partner with engineering to validate technical trade-offs and dependencies.
● Cross-functional Collaboration: Act as the bridge between stakeholders and engineering, ensuring clarity of “why” and “what” while leaving the “how” to engineering teams. Work closely with tech leads, scrum masters, and adjacent product owners to align delivery.
● Stakeholder Empathy & Communication: Engage with end users and stakeholders to understand needs, gather feedback, and translate insights into actionable requirements. Communicate product progress, risks, and outcomes with clarity and influence.

Required Skills & Experience
• 4 plus years of experience as a Product Owner in software/platform environments
• Proven ability to translate complex business needs into clear technical requirements (APIs, workflows, integrations)
• Familiarity with modern API practices (REST, GraphQL, event-driven systems) and data formats (JSON, XML)
• Experience with API specification frameworks such as OpenAPI and Swagger
• Experience in agile environments (Scrum, Kanban), including backlog management, epics, and user stories
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to bridge business and technical audiences
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a related field, or equivalent experience
(Onsite in Glendale - GC3 Disney Campus 3-4 days week)
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
• Familiarity with media supply chain workflows, content distribution, or developer-facing platform services
• Exposure to agentic/AI-powered workflows and human-in-the-loop system design
• Ability to read and interpret technical standards, architectural diagrams, and specifications
• Previous experience working on products serving both technical users (developers) and business stakeholders
