Senior Engineering Manager

Insight Global is seeking a Software Engineering Manager to join the product organization of one of their top clients in the medical technology space. In this highly technical leadership role, you will manage multiple engineering teams and/or other engineering managers, fostering a high-performing, engineering-first culture. The team is driving brand-new software development for innovative product lines, and you’ll be responsible for your teams’ delivery and outcomes—taking pride in the solutions they produce and their ability to meet delivery targets. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders including product managers, UX designers, and fellow engineers to design scalable, thoughtful software systems of considerable scope and complexity. You’ll guide enterprise-wide architectural decisions, promote and establish best practices, and coach engineers and engineering leaders to grow. As an experienced manager of managers, you take ownership of issues, work to find solutions, and collaborate effectively across teams. You bring a proven track record of leading software development teams through multiple product and platform releases, and have made significant individual contributions as a Senior Engineer to real-world software projects. You’ll provide product design leadership, including ongoing design and implementation reviews, and ensure system objectives are aligned with broader project goals. You should be comfortable presenting ideas to senior leadership, challenging the status quo, assisting with project estimation and planning, and contributing hands-on by designing systems and writing clean, functional code when needed. This role is ideal for a technical product engineering manager who has grown from software engineer into senior leadership and thrives in delivering and supporting new products in a collaborative, cross-functional environment.

• 12-15 years of total experience in the software engineering space
• 5-7 years in the management space, overseeing software engineering teams, and managing other managers
• Advanced Knowledge of Java: Ability to Communicate and understand ideas of developers, and actionably communicate development processes to leadership. Hands on Coding experience in the past is realistic here.
• Expert Level Understanding of Spring Boot: Ability to Communicate and understand ideas of developers, and actionably communicate development processes to leadership
• Knowledge and Proficiency with AI Coding Assistance (GitHub Co-Pilot is an example)
• Advanced Understanding with messaging for Data streaming processes (pub/sub queues, request/response)

• Blend of an Individual contributor as a senior engineer in the past, all the way to a senior manager level experience is a major plus
