Job Description

A client in the San Diego Area is looking for a Senior Electrical Engineer to join their join our Electrical Technologies team located in Rancho Bernardo. We are looking for someone with drive, talent, and experience in Power Electronics, Lithium-Ion Battery Systems, and Cable Harness design who also thrives in a fast-paced, Research and Development (R&D) environment. The successful candidate will report to an EE Design Team Manager and, alongside high-caliber staff, will be engaged in the engineering support and new development of high-power motor drives, power conditioning systems, pulsed power systems, high-energy laser systems, battery systems, advanced sensors, space-based laser communications, high-accuracy gimbal motor control, cutting-edge technology ventures into Defense and “New Space,” and a variety of other technologies. They will work with staff and chief engineers in the concept development and prototype design, integration, and test of power electronics for HEL systems, advanced sensors, and space-based laser communications. They should be able to demonstrate prior experience in the improvement of legacy systems and development of new systems.

Required Skills & Experience

- Eligible to obtain a DOD Secret Clearance
-Bachelor's Degree with 12 years’ total professional work experience, Master's Degree with 10 years’ total professional work experience, PHD with 7 years total professional work experience
- Power Electronics Experience ; both analog and digital circuit design.
-Power systems Experience; power supplies; multiphase DC-to-DC converters; embedded controls in power electronics; digital or microprocessor control of power supplies; guiding a design through development and into production; familiarity with DoD technical review process (at a minimum, SRR, PDR, CDR, TRR).
-Desired Skills (ranked high to low): Experience with Altium or PADS PCB Design Software, SPICE circuit simulation tools, C/C++, LabView, VHDL, HyperLynx Signal/Power Integrity tools, ANSYS Signal Integrity tools.
