An early-stage AI company backed by Y Combinator is looking for a Full-Stack Engineer to join their 6-day/week in-person team in San Francisco, CA. This role requires a strong foundation in full-stack development, with the opportunity to directly impact the architecture and performance of a product serving millions of users daily. The engineer will work across both front-end and back-end components of an AI-powered in-app self-improving software, integrating cutting-edge coding models and APIs to improve generation capabilities. This individual will deploy scalable Python code, contribute to high-performance infrastructure, and collaborate closely with the founding team and customers to deliver exceptional user-facing experiences. The role will require adaptability, autonomy, and a willingness to take ownership of features from concept to deployment. The frontend tech stack is Next.js (React), TypeScript, Tailwind, React Query, Zustand. The backend tech stack is Supabase, Python, Fly.io.

24+ years of professional engineering experience with a proven record of shipping real-world products.
Strong programming fundamentals with full-stack proficiency, particularly in Python and React/Next.js.
Proficient in TypeScript with experience using it in production environments.
Experience working on both frontend (React) and backend (Python, Supabase) systems.
Ability to work cross-functionally with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Strong problem-solving skills with a first-principles approach to breaking down complex challenges.
Comfortable communicating directly with users to understand their needs and translate them into features.
Experience independently scoping, building, testing, and deploying product features end-to-end.
Effective verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to write quick specs or informal PRDs when needed.
Experience working at an early-stage startup or in a fast-paced, high-ownership environment.
Comfortable working 60-hour work weeks, in office 6 days/week including Saturdays.
Familiarity with Fly.io, Tailwind, React Query, and Zustand.
Experience working at a startup backed by Y Combinator (YC), Sequoia, A16Z (Anderson Horowtiz) Speedrun, Gradient, Menlo, Kleiner Perkins, Accel, Lightspeed, Benchmark, Index.
