As a Project Developer III Solar, your day typically involves supporting the development of commercial and industrial (C&I) solar, energy storage, and EV charging projects from concept through early design. In the pre-award phase, youll work closely with sales and development teams to evaluate site feasibility, analyze utility tariffs, and generate preliminary system designs and financial models that support proposals and client presentations. Youll help define scopes of work, review RFPs, and contribute to bid-level design packages that align with project goals and client expectations.
Throughout the day, youll refine technical designs using AutoCAD, Helioscope, and PVSyst, ensuring compliance with NEC code and constructability standards. Youll prepare interconnection documentation, review utility reports, and collaborate with internal teams to optimize system performance and cost. While not heavily customer-facing, you may be called in as a subject matter expert to explain technical concepts in simple terms. Youll also support subcontractor coordination, review contractual documents, and ensure that proposed solutions meet guaranteed savings and performance metrics.
Salary will range from $100-150k depending on experience
