Job Description
This person will prepare and maintain design studies, drawings and engineering calculations under supervision. This person will communicate with other departments and provide them with technical assistance and information. This person will take an active role in problem resolution teams and interface with other Engineering groups, Production, Quality Assurance, Purchasing, Vendors, Regulatory Bodies, and other disciplines as required.
Essential Functions & Duties
- Perform design analysis and support calculations for engineering product development including ones related to hydrostatics, ship stability, hydrodynamics/seakeeping, etc
- Support the development of ship designs and/or underlying calculations and documentation
-Support research into internal (e.g. production, planning) and external customers (e.g. ABS, Navy, USCG) issues and interpretations
-Development of ship general arrangement
-Participates in internal working groups, including documenting discussions, decisions, and outcomes

Required Skills & Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Naval Architecture, Naval Engineering, or Ocean Engineering
- 5 to 15 years of experience working with ship general arrangement
- 5 to 15 years of experience with hydrostatics and ship stability
- 5 to 15 years of experience performing hydrodynamic/seakeeping/maneuvering analyses
