Job Description

Data Conversion Leader: The duties and responsibilities of the Database Lead include, but are not limited to, the following:
1. Architect, design, develop and maintain the CARS database(s);
2. Review current CAL-ACCESS databases, data dictionary and other artifacts.
3. Work with the Development Lead & Solution/Cloud Architect on a data model that accurately represents the business requirements. This includes defining the entities, attributes, and relationships that will be stored in the database;
4. Oversee the implementation of the CARS databases, working with Development Lead and Data Migration Lead to ensure that the schema is correctly created and that data is properly migrated into the new databases;
5. Design and Implement regular database backups and geo-replication for disaster recovery. Test database restores to ensure that the system can recover from disasters including but not limited to hardware failures in a cloud region, data corruption, etc.;
6. Design and implement database security to ensure appropriate access controls, database auditing, and encryption (at rest and in-transit);
7. Optimize the performance of the CARS databases including but not limited to, transactional processing, mart/reporting, analytics and archiving. This includes fine-tuning the database schema, selecting appropriate indexes, and managing database resources to ensure that the system meets its performance requirements;
8. Develop, update and maintain the CARS Data Dictionary for all databases;
9. Ensure that the database architecture aligns with the overall project goals and timelines. Communicate with stakeholder to ensure that the databases meet their requirements and expectations;
10.Design and develop the data migration architecture, including but not limited to, identifying the source and target systems, defining data mapping, ensuring data quality and validation, implementing data governance and security, and conducting testing and validation;
11.Review current CAL-ACCESS databases, data dictionary and other artifacts;
12.Develop a mapping document and perform data mapping;
13.Migrate and integrate the current CAL-ACCESS data to the new CARS database;
14. Lead all extract, transform and load (ETL) activities for the project;
Compensation: $60/hr to $80/hr. Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education. Benefit packages for this role will start on the 31st day of employment and include medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as HSA, FSA, and DCFSA account options, and 401k retirement account access. Employees in this role are also entitled to paid sick leave and/or other paid time off as provided by applicable law.

Required Skills & Experience

15. Troubleshoot and resolve all data issues related to CAL-ACCESS data including, but not limited to, data errors, migration, transformation, and integration;
16.Review, update and maintain current data quality rules in Experian Aperture Data Studio to profile CAL-ACCESS data and resolve any data issues;
17.Create new data quality rules in Experian Aperture Data Studio as needed, to profile CAL-ACCESS data and resolve any data issues;
18.Optimize and execute the data migration and integration for high performance to reduce the outage window during production cutover;
19.Identify and proactively bring forward options that will provide the highest value to SOS
