Job Description

As a structural engineering firm specializing in providing construction engineering services to contractors throughout the United States and Canada, Insight Globals client understand the growing needs their clients face and have remained dedicated to providing the response and level of service they have come to count on over twenty-five years.

New engineers work closely with all levels of engineers in the company and have the opportunity to work on a variety of projects.

Day to Day:
· Preparing PE / SE stamped design plans and calculations for temporary and permanent systems on construction projects
· Design using steel, concrete, timber, and masonry construction materials
· Written and verbal communication with general contractors and engineering/drafting project team
· Some travel to project sites around the U.S.

Required Skills & Experience

1. Experience
a. 12 months of experience working full-time for an engineering firm or construction company, or
b. 18 months of experience working part-time for an engineering firm or construction company, or
c. (1) 8-week minimum internships with an engineering firm or construction company
2. Degree
a. Bachelors degree from an accredited university in
i. Civil Engineering (structural focus), or
ii. Structural Engineering, or
iii. Architectural Engineering
3. Coursework
a. steel design
b. concrete design
c. structural analysis
d. geotechnical engineering
4. Code Knowledge
a. ACI Concrete Code
b. AISC Steel Code
5. EIT licensure by hire date
6. Good communication skills

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

Preferred Skills:
1. Masters degree in Structural Engineering
