Job Description

Insight Global is looking for an Area Construction Manager in the Southern California region to support an industry leading Environmental Engineering Consulting company specializing in the planning, designing and construction of water/wastewater facilities. This individual will be primarily responsible for growth and development of the Construction Management division within for the Southern California Region.
Responsibilities
Lead the Area Construction Management Staff to achieve program/project management objectives while adhering to company policies and procedures.
Build and maintain long-term relationships with clients.
Manage the profit and loss for the construction management group within your area.
Support field staff to ensure optimal outcomes in time, cost, and quality.
Oversee the work of Construction Managers, Resident Engineers, Resident Project Representatives, Inspectors, and support staff.
Foster collaborative relationships with other Carollo operating units to ensure successful delivery of construction management services and overall success of the CM Group.
Deploy solutions for key issues as assigned.
Adhere to and enforce internal company processes and policies, including business and contracting rules.
Manage multiple large, complex initiatives and/or projects simultaneously.
Lead complex teams through challenging project assignments and client environments.
Ensure projects are staffed with appropriate resources and skill sets to achieve objectives within the company profit model.
Establish and implement a training program for all construction management and inspection staff levels.
Demonstrate strong written and verbal communication and negotiation skills.
Ensure personal and team safety by implementing company health and safety guidelines, practices, and policies.
Lead the development of project/program proposals, whether unsolicited or in response to requests for qualifications or proposals.
Develop and maintain new project leads and opportunities.
Collaborate with the marketing/proposal group to develop marketing materials, proposals, and prepare for interviews.
Lead the CMS group in developing strategic plans for entering new markets or specific projects.

Required Skills & Experience

Minimum of 10 years of experience managing the large-scale construction projects
At least 3 years of experience focused on water and wastewater facilities projects (Pump-Stations, Treatment Plants, Pressurized Pipelines, etc.)
3-5 Years of Business Development Involvement (Client Interaction, Preparing Proposals, Interviewing with Clients, Prospecting New Projects, etc.)
At least 5 years including projects valued over $15 million.
Thorough understanding of construction management processes and in-depth financial understanding of construction management.
Effective communication with clients, contractors, and the project team, delivering high-quality services within budget and schedule constraints.
Ability to work within a team environment and communicate clearly with the lead engineer, clients, and contractors.
Highly motivated self-starter with the ability to learn quickly.
Strong knowledge of construction management software, including Primavera P6 and Bentley PWCM (EADOC).
Proficient in standard software such as MS Word and Excel.
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Critical leadership position requiring project lead experience.

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

Associate or Bachelor of Science in Engineering or a related field.
Professional registration (PE/PG) and construction/project management certification (CCM/PMI).
Direct owner representative experience and management involvement in municipal programs/projects.
Completion of OSHA 10-hour safety course and other construction safety training.
Experience in staff development, client services, and project control systems, problem-solving, and claims avoidance.
