One of the world's largest healthcare and biotech companies is looking to add a Senior Software Engineer to their product development team. This person will play a key role in developing a brand-new enterprise-scale web application designed to manage and streamline complex sequencing workflows. This product aims to unify fragmented diagnostic data from multiple sources into a scalable, reliable system. Youll work within a SAFe Agile framework alongside a collaborative product development team, contributing to the full software lifecyclefrom brainstorming and design to development, testing, and deployment.
Your day-to-day will involve backend engineering using Java and Spring Boot, designing scalable web services, and integrating with both relational and NoSQL databases. Youll be expected to think critically about system behavior, anticipate potential failures, and design for resilience and recovery. Youll also contribute to CI/CD pipelines, participate in code reviews, and ensure the software integrates seamlessly with cloud infrastructure and distributed systems.

- 5+ years of hands-on experience in backend software development
- Expert in Java, including advanced features like lambda expressions and streaming APIs
- Strong experience with Spring Boot and JPA
- Proven ability to design, develop, and deploy scalable web applications and services
- Experience with relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL) and RESTful APIs
- Familiarity with message brokers like RabbitMQ and distributed architecture concepts
- Solid understanding of Linux systems and Shell scripting
- Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins and GitHub Actions
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate in a globally distributed team
- Ability to think critically about system state management and failure recovery scenarios
- Experience with AWS Cloud Services (e.g., EC2, S3, RDS, API Gateway, VPC)
- Familiarity with DevOps tools like Terraform, Ansible, or similar
- Masters degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
- Experience in the healthcare or diagnostics industry
- Understanding of workflow orchestration systems or sequencing pipelines
