Job Description

Insight Global is in search of a Public Information Specialist to support one of our clients in Sacramento. This position would support the organization with a variety of tasks. This role could involve public speaking, public tours, creating articles for internal and external customers,
- Assist in planning, organizing, staffing and managing logistical details of special events, community outreach activities, employee activities, and other projects or events
- Prepare articles, fact sheets, and content for various internal and external communications
- Design basic graphics using Canva, such as infographics, posters, displays, etc.
- Participate in various project and team meetings
- Read, understand, apply, and effectively communicate County rules, regulations and procedures, and federal, state, and local laws, codes, and regulations
- Establish and maintain effective relationships with the media, community leaders, County management staff, and representatives of a wide range of public agencies and private organizations
- Compose, coordinate, and edit a variety of educational, informational and promotional materials and other materials such as pamphlets, brochures and newsletters for dissemination and use by Department staff, public and private agencies, news media, schools, and the general public
- Research information and formulate recommendations
- Speak in public and before groups
- Design internet and intranet postings, including various social media platforms
- Adhere to deadlines
Perform other duties, as assigned, related to the intent of the Public Information Specialist

Compensation: $33.00/hr to $38.00/hr. Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education. Benefit packages for this role will start on the 31st day of employment and include medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as HSA, FSA, and DCFSA account options, and 401k retirement account access. Employees in this role are also entitled to paid sick leave and/or other paid time off as provided by applicable law.

Required Skills & Experience

3+ years' experience with Social media management experience: I want this person to have a strong social media background and be able to run our pages and provide short and long-term strategy.
I’d love if they knew LinkedIn and how it’s used to recruit job applicants
Strong writing skills: This person will own our internal blog, so great writing and editing skills needed.
Website updates/management: Experience with WordPress a plus.
Data analysis and report building: This person will be responsible for tracking analytics on social media and website, and report back in a presentation format how our content is performing.
Customer service skills: They will be interacting with vendors we work with and customers/members of the public regularly.
Tours/Events: Willingness to roll up sleeves for tour/event set up.
Education Program assistance as needed: Perhaps coordinating book deliveries, some event planning.
Collateral development/updates: Familiarity with graphic design (Canva knowledge a plus).
Outlook savvy: Sending/scheduling reminders/meetings for events and tours as well as routinely checking various Comms Department inboxes.

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

· Previous experience working for an PR firm or Agency that supported State and Local Public information
