Job Description

Duties
Responsibilities of the Associate Civil Engineer position may include, but are not limited to, the following:
Direct, supervise, and collaborate with District staff, consultants, and others
Direct, supervise, and lead the preparation of business initiatives, business case evaluations, reports, planning documents, studies, drawings, technical documents and specifications, cost estimates, schedules, presentations, requests for proposals, etc.
Prepare policies, procedures, and agreements
Develop project concepts and lead/manage capital projects
Plan and conduct customer outreach and coordination activities
Facilitate environmental review (NEPA/CEQA) and permitting
Lead and administer grant/loan funding activities
Prepare for and lead internal and external meetings
Other duties as assigned


Compensation: $57.27/hr to $69.63/hr. Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education. Benefit packages for this role will start on the 31st day of employment and include medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as HSA, FSA, and DCFSA account options, and 401k retirement account access. Employees in this role are also entitled to paid sick leave and/or other paid time off as provided by applicable law.

Required Skills & Experience

Professional Civil Engineer (PE) license in CA
Bachelor's Degree from an accredited state school or university in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field
Strong computer skills (Excel, Microsoft Office Suite, etc)
Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
Motivated worker with a strong work ethic.
Ability to work and collaborate with others across multiple groups, disciplines, and projects

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

Wastewater Experience
Environmental sustainability experience
Project management/program management experience
Cross-discipline experience
Regulatory, permitting, master planning, grant/loan funding and administration, and water recycling experience
