A client in San Diego is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior QA Automation Engineer/Supervisor to lead our quality assurance efforts specifically within our Product & Pricing Engines (PPE) team. This critical role will focus on ensuring the accuracy, reliability, and performance of our PPE systems through robust automation strategies. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of mortgage product and pricing complexities, strong technical expertise in automation, and proven leadership abilities.
Responsibilities:
PPE Domain Expertise & Testing Strategy:
o Develop and implement a comprehensive test automation strategy tailored to the intricacies of mortgage PPE systems.
o Gain and maintain expert-level knowledge of Guild Mortgage's product offerings, pricing methodologies, and loan origination processes.
o Design and execute test plans and test cases that validate the accuracy and performance of PPE calculations, rules, and workflows.
o Collaborate with product managers and business analysts to understand PPE requirements and ensure testability.
o Focus on the validation of rate locks, loan eligibility, and regulatory compliance within the PPE.
Automation Leadership & Development:
o Lead a team of QA automation engineers, providing mentorship, guidance, and technical expertise.
o Design, develop, and maintain robust and scalable automated test frameworks using modern tools and technologies (e.g., Cypress, Playwright, Selenium, API testing tools).
o Oversee the development of automated test scripts for web applications, APIs, and databases related to PPE systems.
o Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines for automated testing, ensuring seamless integration with development workflows (Azure DevOps preferred).
o Drive the adoption of BDD/TDD principles and best practices.
Performance & Data Validation:
o Conduct performance testing to ensure the responsiveness and scalability of PPE systems under high load.
o Develop and execute data validation tests to verify the accuracy and consistency of product and pricing data.
o Analyze test results, identify defects, and provide detailed reports to development teams.
o Ensure data integrity and compliance with regulatory requirements.
Team Leadership & Collaboration:
o Train new QA automation engineers.
o Conduct regular team meetings, provide performance feedback, and foster a collaborative environment.
o Communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels, including product managers, developers, and business analysts.
o Act as a liaison between the QA team and other departments.
Regulatory Compliance:
o Ensure that all testing processes and procedures comply with relevant mortgage industry regulations and guidelines.
o Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of test plans, test cases, and test results.

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field desired.
Minimum of 7+ years of experience in QA automation, with a focus on web applications and APIs.
Minimum of 3+ years of experience in a leadership or supervisory role.
Expertise in designing and implementing test automation frameworks.
Proficiency in multiple programming languages (e.g., Java, Python, JavaScript, C#).
Experience with modern test automation tools and technologies.
Experience with CI/CD pipelines and tools (Azure DevOps preferred).
Strong knowledge of API testing, performance testing, and data validation.
Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Deep understanding of SQL and database testing.
Strong understanding of regulatory requirements related to the mortgage industry.
Experience with cloud based technologies, preferably Azure.
Mortgage background
Strong understanding of mortgage product and pricing concepts is desirable.
