A global medical technology company is looking to have a Senior Mechanical Engineer join their team onsite in Sorrento Valley. You will support R&D projects for existing product expansions and technology enhancements of the existing product line. Performs skilled mechanical design duties with the use of applicable hardware tools/equipment under moderate engineering guidance.
Actively participates and provides guidance in the development efforts from concepts to implementation as a project member
Applies engineering principles and techniques to develop engineering solutions using a variety of engineering tools.
Assesses the feasibility and soundness of proposed engineering tasks, creates an execution plan for completion of tasks, and tracks progress as required.
Performs CAD modeling of electromechanical assemblies to support the release of new designs and creates improvements to existing designs.
Perform and/or direct engineering documentation in SAP: create/change material, BOM, plans, and reports; process change orders; and design reviews
Proactively communicates with the engineering team and supervisor regarding tasking, progress, and development challenges.
Interacts with other engineering disciplines for resolving technical issues.
Time management of several assignments having varying scope and limited complexity
Provide technical leadership across multiple projects simultaneously

Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent degree and experience.
At least 4 years of hardware experience in the medical device industry running V&V testing, performing root cause analysis, product enhancements, and creating CAPAs.
Ability to troubleshoot issues, determine root cause, and actively drive risk out of designs.
Educational or working experience with SolidWorks to perform CAD modeling of electromechanical assemblies
Experience conducting tolerance analysis with knowledge of GD&T.
