Job Description

Clean Harbors is seeking a Chemical Sales Specialist (internally known as a CleanPack Specialist) responsible for growing the chemical packing, treatment, and disposal business within an assigned territory. This role involves conducting site walks, evaluating waste inventory, and creating quotes while also selling capabilities. The ideal candidate must be comfortable discussing chemical regulations with clients, as knowledge in this area is crucial for securing sales. This position provides a significant opportunity to grow a personal book of business.

Responsibilities
Ensure Health and Safety is the number one priority by following all safety protocols and regulations
Meet or exceed revenue goals by generating new business and maintaining client relationships
Conduct site walks to evaluate waste inventory, develop quotes, and communicate job needs
Develop and maintain a book of business with 50-100 accounts, expected to visit each quarterly
Engage in face-to-face sales efforts with around 150 customers, conducting 8-10 meetings per week plus 10 additional contacts
Work with key customers such as universities, state schools, middle schools, and hospitals
Manage a large sales territory, ranging from San Jose to the Oregon border and King City, with occasional week-long trips to cover the region
Maintain knowledge of environmental regulations to ensure compliance and successful sales
Collaborate with internal teams to support business development and operational goals

Clean Harbors proprietary CleanPack Laboratory Chemical Packing services ensure proper recognition, handling, packaging, transportation, and disposal of laboratory chemicals. We also support laboratory relocations, closures, and cleanouts.

Required Skills & Experience

Confidence and strong communication skills
Chemical industry experience (ideal for former chemical engineers)
Ability to learn and adapt in a technical sales role
1-3 years of experience in a relevant field
Knowledge of DOT/RCRA regulations (hazardous waste and safety)
Previous experience chemical lab packing

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

Experience in a specialty chemical company
Familiarity with Salesforce CRM
