A large automotive company in Fremont, CA is looking for an Electrical Engineer to join their Drive Inverter Reliability Test Team and contribute to the development of cutting-edge electric vehicle inverters. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical engineering, with hands-on experience in power electronics and power conversion systems, including inverters, DC/DC, and AC/DC power converters. This role is 70% in the lab and 30% at a desk.
This role focuses on validating the reliability and performance of inverters at both system and component levels to ensure the robustness and efficiency of next-generation EV technology.
What Youll Do
- Design, execute, and analyze reliability tests for electric vehicle inverters
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve design, integration, and reliability issues
- Develop new test equipment to simulate real-world electrical, thermal, and mechanical stresses experienced by inverters and their components
- Perform instrumentation and characterization of the electrical, mechanical, and thermal behavior of inverters at system and component levels
- Develop test specifications, procedures, and documentation for reliability validation tests
- Utilize electronic design and simulation software to design, simulate, and troubleshoot test setups and test rigs
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to engineers and technicians
- Prepare and present detailed reports on test findings, failure analysis, and recommendations
Pay range for this role is: $55 - $60 per hour
