Job Description

The Construction Services Project Engineer/Coordinator will provide essential project management and support to the Design & Construction team at Genentech. This role involves overseeing the efficient and timely delivery of approximately 120 projects annually, ranging from $50K to $200M, from initiation through execution and closeout. The position is crucial in streamlining project workflows, supporting project delivery, managing documentation, and coordinating through all phases of project execution.

Key Responsibilities:

Project-Specific Responsibilities:
Task Management: Assist with construction project tasks and ensure alignment with project schedules and deliverables.
Coordination: Act as a liaison with internal stakeholders and external vendors to advance project progress.
Documentation Control: Manage project documentation/folders, including cost estimates, funding, drawings, technical documents, and compliance documentation as required by the Engineering Manual /Engineering Manual Lite
RFI Management: Track and manage Requests for Information (RFIs) and coordinate responses.
Meeting Support: Administer documents related to project governance, coordinate office hours for SMEs and drawings, and support onboarding training.
Vendor & Change Management: Support D&C project team members (PMs, PCE, SME, etc) manage change across various vendors or Genentech stakeholders.
Vendor Onboarding: Facilitate the onboarding of new team members and vendors, including badge access and training coordination.

Project Controls/Procurement Support:
Procurement Support: Process shopping carts, review proposals and ensure contract deliverables are present to issue Purchase Orders. Understand the contracting process in addition to key requirements for Purchase Orders to get issued.
Invoice Troubleshooting: Address any issues related to vendor invoices.

Closeout Support:
Closeout Support: Assist in the completion of closeout deliverables, including documentation and compliance with project closeout processes.
Handover Coordination: Facilitate EHS/FOM/SPOC team coordination and adherence to Genentechs turnover and drawing standards.
Standards Compliance: Ensure compliance with Genentech standards for documentation and training.

IT and Data Management Responsibilities:
Website Management: Maintain and update organizational websites, ensuring content accuracy and clarity.
Data Management: Utilize Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets, and data visualization tools to manage and visualize data for Tableau dashboards.

Required Skills & Experience

Bachelors Degree in engineering, construction management, or related field with 3-5 years of internship or professional project management or coordination experience in the construction or design industry
Proficiency in MS Excel, Google Sheets and data visualization tools
Familiarity with project management software and document control systems
Understanding of construction processes, project controls and procurement procedures
Background in construction or architectural engineering or general contracting
