A prestigious Higher Education client is seeking an experienced full stack developer to support several in flight projects, which are funded by local government entities. Some of these projects include building a Geospatial web application to be used by firefighters in California, as well as a forest data hub. In addition, they are building a national data platform for educational institutions, which aims to bring equity for underserved communities. This full stack developer will be responsible for adding new features, fixing bugs, and meeting with both internal teams and end users to improve and enhance various web applications. They will work with design teams to implement UI design and functionally while connecting to and developing the back end REST APIs. This developer must be comfortable taking initiative and working in an academic environment without hierarchy and structur

4+ years of experience in full stack web application development (50% front end, 50% back end)
Ability to work in an open source Linux OS environment
3+ years of back end development using Python
3+ years of front end development using technologies like HTML, JavaScript, CSS and React
Ability to build REST APIs, new features and enhancements for user facing web applications
Database experience with SQL and MongoDB, familiarity with database design
Ability to work in a collaborative environment and come onsite as needed for face to face meetings and white boarding sessions
Must have online portfolio or work samples to be submitted
